The EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review

In addition to a new display, suspension, and self-sealing tubeless tires, it comes in four new colors: orange, black, green, and a distinctive pearl white.

The EMOVE Cruiser V2 is the latest version of the most popular long-range electric scooter in the world. Since 2019, cruisers have been more cost-effective than scooters regarding range per dollar. As a result, YouTuber Airrack decided to take a cruise throughout the state of Florida.

The Cruiser is quick and has an incredible range. Its battery is approximately three times bigger than the Segway Ninebot Max G2’s, and its 1000-watt engine enables it to achieve a top speed twice as quickly as the typical rental or low-cost scooter.

Who Is This Scooter For?

The EMOVE Cruiser V2 is a good option for anyone who needs a long-range scooter that is comfortable to ride, has a high top speed, and has all the necessary safety features but may not need to take it upstairs frequently or put it in and out of a car trunk.

The Cruiser V2 is a single-motor scooter that is easy to ride and appropriate for a variety of riders due to its sine wave motor controller. However, with a top speed of over thirty miles per hour, it is faster than a car around town. It also fits riders of different sizes thanks to the adjustable stem.

It has put on significant weight since the Cruiser’s most recent version, the EMOVE Cruiser S. Twenty pounds or such. It has nearly no impact on performance as we had hoped, and it makes the ride feel much more robust but less portable. [EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review]

EMOVE Cruiser V2: Performance

Top Speed

The EMOVE Cruiser V2 is approximately one mile quicker than its predecessor, the EMOVE Cruiser S, with a reported ESG peak speed of 32.7 mph.

Acceleration

The EMOVE Cruiser S and the Cruiser V2 accelerate from 0 to 15 miles per hour very identically. This is quite surprising given the additional weight of the scooter.

Range

Without any battery power, I was able to drive uphill at 20 miles per hour. Even though I displayed 42.4 miles in the end, it was actually 40.6 miles because we started with 1.8 miles on the odometer. Speedometer inaccuracies are also continuous. Our data logger, however, confirmed the results.

With the same battery and output power but a weight reduction of almost 20 pounds, the EMOVE Cruiser V2 covered 40.8 miles on a range test course, 2.8 miles less than the preceding Cruiser S.

In our opinion, the V2’s range decreased due to its weight and thicker, chunkier tires. EMOVE Cruisers are single-motor scooters with the longest range that we have tested since 2019. Though they aren’t even close, these are the only motor scooters that can truly cover more than 40 miles in the real world. The second-longest single-motor scooter we tested is the VMAX VX4 GT, with a 32-mile range.

Braking

Although they appear smoother today, the EMOVE Cruiser V2’s semi-hydraulic brakes are identical to those on previous versions.

Semi-hydraulic brakes are hydraulic in the calipers itself and mechanically controlled by a cable that extends from the levers to the calipers. The feel is one way that they offer the best of both worlds in certain ways. Mechanical brakes aren’t always strong enough, while hydraulic brakes might occasionally be too grabby. These are precisely in the Goldilocks zone.

Brakes also have the advantage of being easier to maintain. Without ever having to drain your system, you may have the power and sensation of hydraulic brakes. The calipers itself include all of the hydraulic components. [EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review]

Thanks in part to its bigger, larger rotors, the EMOVE Cruiser V2 outperformed the Cruiser S by 0.4 feet, stopping from 15 miles per hour in only 9.7 feet.

Hill Climb

To outpace the Cruiser S, the V2 needed to get to the top of the hill in less than 11.7 seconds.

The Cruiser V2 took 12.6 seconds to climb our challenging 10% grade test hill, more than a second slower than the previous model.

Again, the variance is likely due to the greater weight of stronger components. But the Cruiser V2 can still climb hills and can travel uphill faster than the Segway Ninebot Max G2 by more than a second.

Ride Quality

The deck appears bigger if that is possible. The throttle seems softer and less powerful than on the Cruiser S. The brakes are superb; they are stronger and better.

The revised suspension is a big improvement over the Cruiser S, which had those extremely old shocks up front. They always seemed a little too stiff to me. In short, the new design makes the ride much smoother.

Cruiser V2 6

They are the tallest handlebars we have ever seen, standing 44 inches above the deck, and they can be lowered to the lowest conceivable height. One of the original Cruiser’s features that has recently become quite uncommon is this.

The handlebars are very wide at 27 and a half inches, giving enough room for mounting gear. Almost any other mountain bike handlebar may be used in their stead. However, because its ones don’t fold like those on the old EMOVE Cruiser, the new E-Move Cruiser V2 loses some of the original model’s compactness. [EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review]

The new footrest makes it much better. You can move your body considerably lower and farther back, which really helps with braking, even though it looks sportier. It also creates a nice grip, and you have turn signals back here.

EMOVE Cruiser V2: Design, Build & Reliability

The round shape of the previous Cruiser left few firm places to hold on back here. Additionally, they had to add a rear footrest to prepare you for the might of the upcoming dual-motor EMOVE Cruiser.

In fact, the first dual-motor EMOVE Cruiser will be offered soon. They reinforced the neck, the frame, and everything else to resist all that stress.

The Cruiser’s 10-inch tires are wider and more capable of off-roading than the originals. On an EMOVE Cruiser, they are also self-sealing for the first time. The back wheel is far more amazing, even if I believe the new front wheel looks fantastic:

“On almost every other scooter in the world, you have to choose between tubeless tires, which might be difficult to repair, or tubed tires with split rims, which make tire changes easy. Because an O-ring is positioned in the center to seal it when it is bolted together, the Cruiser V2’s rear wheel is split rim and tubeless.

All that additional strength and stability comes at a cost. The new Cruiser V2 weights 78.2 pounds, according on our scale. That weighs 21.8 pounds more than the original Cruiser S. However, this scooter’s new, stronger design eliminates the main problems of its predecessors.

Another feature that facilitates tire changes is the ability to quickly separate the motor cable. In this manner, replacing a tire won’t require you to fight with the complete scooter. [EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review]

The plug-and-play wiring of the Cruiser V2 makes it much simpler if you ever need to work on the scooter. But the deck now also includes plug-and-play.

EMOVE Cruiser V2: Is It Worth It? Our Verdict

Thanks to several design improvements, such as better suspension and fenders, wider handlebars, a secure folding clasp, a center-mounted TFT display, and a repositioned headlamp, this Cruiser is a far more robust electric scooter than its predecessors.

The greatest specification among them is, of course, the 1560 watt-hour battery. You will need to recharge it a third more often for the same amount of kilometers because it is three times larger than a normal scooter. This implies that your battery will live longer because the frequency of charging determines how many years your battery lasts.

The V2 is known for having a large number of replaceable components and accessories, just like the Cruiser. There are several accessories available, such as different throttles, phone holders, and throne seats.

The EMOVE Cruiser V2 boasts a big, comfy deck with more space than before owing to the footrest in the back, great hill climbing, and an enormous range as usual. The increased weight and decreased mobility are disadvantages.

Due to the extra 21.8 pounds and the loss of the folding handlebars, it is a little more difficult to transport upstairs and is more difficult to put into the trunk without folding at least one seat down. This is the one notable disadvantage.

You may eventually desire more than this electric scooter, but as we’ve said before, you probably won’t ever need more than this one. If you treat it well, it may even outlast your car. [EMOVE Cruiser V2 Review]

Real Life Experience With EMOVE Cruiser V2

Riding the EMOVE Cruiser V2 completely changed my life. As soon as I stepped onto it, I knew it was built to last. The spacious deck and sturdy frame provided me with a sense of security, and the upgraded suspension made every ride enjoyable, even over bumps and rough roads. It’s one of those scooters that immediately seems reliable and comfortable.

What I love most is the power. Accelerating to more than 30 mph was thrilling; I had the impression that I was cutting through traffic with ease and avoiding collisions.

Also, the brakes are really excellent. Their robust yet smooth design gives me complete control, which is essential in crowded areas and when riding downhill.

The range was something else that amazed me. I was able to travel for a longer period of time without worrying about my battery draining. For kilometers, I wouldn’t have to bother about charging.

However, the scooter may be a bit heavy to move, especially when climbing stairs or loading it into a car. However, the weight doesn’t matter once I’m on it because the sturdy feel enhances the ride.

From my perspective, the EMOVE Cruiser V2 is more than just a scooter. I utilize it for errands, city excursions, and even just relaxing. Every ride is stress-free and enjoyable because of its perfect fusion of speed, comfort, and durability.
